How do people consume media? People want fast, people want emotional, people want action, and people want so much. In class we were discussing how people experience entertainment, especially live, like theater and music. People like flashy and grandiose, and they also like things that are emotionally accessible. There is definitely a generational/age gap of who enjoys what types of entertainment, and how much attention they have.
This transfers to what people think is boring, and thus what people who make the content will do.
A short thought that I will likely expand on soon, but yeah.

Random Thoughts of the Day: November 14th 2019
So Google Stadia, the Google game streaming platform that comes out pre launch in a little under a week, has been on my mind. Many news outlets and people have been criticizing it because of some features it won't have. Now I understand that if something is being released and it doesn't have all the things it advertised that's a little annoying.
But the thing is it's not being released. It's being pre released. Their website says you will get to play games in "early access". That means it's not released. You will get to use the service and play the games before it's launched. It's a privilege and those who paid for it should know the potential risks. It won't be perfect. Most things that are officially released aren't even close to perfect. But you get to play around with it for a bit before it comes out. And you get some other neat things for investing in it early.
So I don't understand why people can complain or criticize the early features. Again, if it's someone who paid then they should have been aware, and if it's just a news outlets then they should understand that it's early access.
That's it, just a small rant about people being kind of dumb in my opinion.

Random Thoughts of the Day: November 6th 2019
Speakers are such an interesting pieces of technology. They move air to make sound. And sound is semi simple, but it's pretty cool how they work. I also find it mesmerizing to just watch a speaker that is big and making lots of sound. You can see it vibrating and feel the sound pulsing through you.
There's also the fact that they can be so small, and also get super huge. They all have different qualities, having different ways of pushing certain frequencies, and it's all very interesting to me.

Random Thoughts of the Day: November 5th 2019
So there's this thing in my program in college that is semi controversial. The program is very small, about 10-14 people per year. In the first year class there are two students who have started dating, and many people think they shouldn't be.
Now I have nothing against people going out and trying things etc, but I also see where the concern stems from. If they break up and things go well, or they stay together, then yay, everything is good and life moves on. But let's say they either break up angry, or extremely sad. This leads to lots of tension in their year, which is already only 11 students. They have to work on shows together, be on small teams, be in classes together sometimes for 9 hours a day, and potentially work in groups together. If they don't end things well this could lead to many problems for them, their year, the program, and even some of the shows.
Hopefully that won't happen and nothing dramatic will come of this. But they are young, and they only knew each other for about 3 weeks before they started dating, assuming they didn't know each other before coming to college which I don't think they did.
I know that since of my friend's dorms have a "rule" of no dating until November, and some discourage it completely.
Just a semi controversial thing I've been thinking about.
Also realize this is sort of a re post but I was thinking about this recently because I saw them and it sparked thought.
